Dear Ian,

I lived in Vancouver since June 1st 2009; previously to that I lived in Toronto (born there in 1955) but, I have lived in Halifax for 4 years in the 1980's.
What intrigues me most about this site is the "introspection" part, particularly the fiction.

I have written a great deal over the years, and have a box full of letters, stories and all kinds of scribbling that I have done since I "Came Out" on January 8th of 1978. Is there something about the cold of winter that allows us to come in contact with the loving, warmer sides to our being?

I just finished reading Garcia's Heart, by Liam Durcan. I bought the book two years ago at the Vancouver Writers and Readers Festival, and got a chance to chat with Liam; he is a neurologist at one of Montreal's Hospital.

A great deal of the book is set in the neighbourhood of Notre Dame de Grace, and it made me nostalgic for the many times that I visited Montreal over the years; from Expo '67 (when I was 12) till nine years ago, when I spent four days staying with a dear friend before boarding a flight to Vancouver. I moved to Vancouver without any previous knowledge, and had in fact not even seen pictures of the place before the great adventure.

Sounds like Montreal has been your "great adventure".

Sorry that I don't do Facebook. I am techno-savvy but, still prefer solitude, writing (especially with my Cross fountain-pen), and reading. I can go through books like a person might a loaf of bread.

Would you be willing to share more of your stories with me? Confidentiality assured; I am no publisher secretly wanting to mine other peoples writings for money.

Love the porn on your site but, it really is the brains and the thinking that goes into your introspection part of the site that interests and intrigues me.
